The only true death is that in our hearts. Keep that little flame alive.
Just 'cause we’re in dire straits is no reason to be running on fumes, mister Jesus. You need some rest to get some strength back in your bones. No sense going up against all that all tired and hopeless. That’s why Sam said what he did.
We are not in the final stretch. It only makes sense to forgo joy and rest when we are about to reach a tipping point where the power of capital is broken, but even then we may win the revolution well-fed and in high spirits.
There is no One Ring that contains all malice, the abuses of power are structural and will take decentralized structural changes to unmake. That is the work of many happy and creative people, well-rested enough to imagine a better world.
When you fight so hard that you burn out, capitalism wins. Capitalism wants you constantly exhausted and stretched thin, caught between so many worthy causes that you’re vulnerable and easily broken.
Right now, more than ever, we need your joy.
You optimists are insane.
Thank you for existing.
