Just want to point out that Congress is about to go on recess and many of them will have to fly home.
So they passed this for completely selfish reasons and probably because they would have gotten the shit kicked out of them at airports.

Yeah. I guess my point is the easiest way to get anything done in federal govt is to minimally inconvenience the ruling class.
Or the implicit threat of violence.
