Starbucks CEO compensation is actually insane
So I looked into what Brian Niccol is making and its honestly wild. Since he came from Chipotle to “save” the company in late 2024, they basically gave him a blank check. Here is the basic breakdown of what he gets:
- Base Salary:He makes $1.6 million just for showing up.
- Cash Bonus: His target is 225% of his salary, so thats another $3.6 million if things goes well.
- Stock Grants: This is the big one. He gets about $23 million in stocks every year.
- The “Sign-on” Deal: When he first started, his total package was valued at like $113 million because they had to pay him back for the stocks he lost by leaving Chipotle.
The most crazy part though… He doesnt even live in Seattle. Starbucks let him stay in Newport Beach, California. They literally built him a “satellite office” there and let him use the private corporate jet to commute 1,000 miles back and forth.
Total Pay Summary:
Basically, hes making around $28 million to $31 million a year now that the initial signing bonus is over. Must be nice to get paid millions to fly a private jet to work lol.
Wal-Mart does the same thing to make sure their employees qualify for SNAP. Because where else are they going to spend it?
There needs to be a global equivalent-law-everywhere where businesses who force their employees onto social-services for any service, that business gets fined 4/3 of what costs that business put on the taxpayer.
Make the moral-criminality more-costly than simply doing the proper thing.
& publish the fines of all the businesses, on a month-by-month registry, too, to apply job-market-pressure on them.
( that NYC thing where the health-department requires food-truck’s health-rating to be displayed on the outside of the truck is brilliant. hence the registry-idea )

Paragone… More like paragressive. Love it.
