Stalin was a landlord lol
Why?
- People had to pay rent in Soviet Union (even if it was pretty low)
- Soviet Union was state capitalist
- Stalin was CEO of Soviet Union
- So he was the chief landlord of Soviet Union
- And yes, every landlord is bad

Source? I find this hard to believe from Smith? Or is that the joke and I’m just retard?
It’s not actually from Adam Smith, it’s a Marx quote from some of his unfinished notes posthumously published as Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844. The quote is specifically from Rent of Land in the first manuscript.
Adam Smith does talk about how landlords are parasites in Book 1 Chapter 11 of Wealth of Nations, Of the Rent of Land.
