Love this game. It took a while for me to get into it but once i did I was hooked. As noted above the gambit system was a stand out and led to some deep and rewarding gameplay. And a shout out to whoever worked on the translation and localization. All these years later and I still remember how impressed I was by the quality and by all the care and attention to detail that went into it.
Checked how the JP dub was recently, and now I see the English dub as a major improvement 👌
I just picked up FF XII on my Ayn Thor and had a good laugh at this scene! Balthair also has the same voice actor of Devrim Kay. I’m still not okay 🥹
The Ayn Thor seems like a nice little system. In short, what’s your opinion about it?
It’s ergonomics aren’t the best; but one of the biggest boons for the Thor is just how much community support there is. 3D printed accessories, multiple dual screen launchers getting updates, Zelda Twilight Princess’ decomp got a dual screen fork, the list just goes on.
Bit long, but I wanted to get the ‘spirit’ of it across haha
Thanks, been meaning to replace my Retroid Pocket 3 Plus and I love the clamshell design of the Thor even if I don’t plan on playing a lot of 3DS-titles.
Man I am so tempted to get the Thor but I have an RP5 and feel like I should wait to upgrade until the eventual Thor 2 or they make a version with better specs to handle emulation of PS3 and Secret Device as well as more demanding Steam titles
FF12 was such an incredible game. The gambit system was really great once you got the hang of it. It also had such a great world to explore.
I played FF16 last year and although it was a beautiful game it felt so much smaller and shallower.
If only they picked any other character than Vaan to be main character. Balthier or Ashe would have been a much better choice.
He’s essentially their farmboy Luke Skywalker but the problem is he doesn’t grow into the reserved and confident Jedi also known as The Cooler Luke
I agree, Vaan is the weakest of the cast. Possibly Penelo too, but they at least did a good thing with how they wrote her in relation to Vaan, keping him in line and such.
