Autumn Hill (a trans woman) was sentenced to 50 years of prison in a men’s facility for attending the Prairieland anti-ICE protest. She left before shots were fired. She did nothing but legally exercise her first amendment rights.

Reminder that trans people are considered “probable domestic terrorists” by this administration.

Some people are just glossing over some of the really disturbing things that happened there. Like this really disturbs me.

"with the Justice Department reporting that one of them was struck non-fatally in the neck area. "

What is even more disturbing is the charge

“Hill was convicted for riot, providing material support to terrorists and conspiracy to use and carry an explosive—namely the fireworks used at the protest. She has been sentenced to 50 years in prison. That’s more than double the sentences of former Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio and Oath Keepers Founder Stewart Rhodes, who were key leaders in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.”

Note it says providing material support but all that does mean is being present there and a part of it. So the headline does not lie. 50 years for attending. I mean is it going to be 25 years for passing by?

is it going to be 25 years for passing by?

A guy got 30 years for moving a box of zines, not even attending the protest, so basically yeah.

This shit leaves me so fucking scared. I feel for her, that’s a fucking nightmare. They just destroyed her life for doing nothing, the monsters.

Dunno where you live but the rest of the world isn’t doing so great on trans rights either. This isn’t a uniquely American problem, not by a long shot.

America is the spearhead of it all, and the rest are just following suit from the biggest bully, hoping they’ll not be the target of bullying if they kiss ass

        Hah.

That’s one way of looking at things I guess…

“Other countries are worse than us so it’s fine”

If you make a list of all the countries which are locking up trans people for being trans, it’s not exactly a club to aspire to.

I never said or implied “worse”. That was you.

My point is that fascism is on the rise worldwide. Here’s my next point: Like it or not, what happens in the US will eventually affect you. We all live on the same planet and in the same information ecosphere. So maybe we should collectively take action to improve our lives and stop cruelty, instead of trying to win the Stupid Internet Points Game.

          Have a good day!
