I don’t know about y’all, but this handheld in particular has me hyped. The design is pretty unique, how it uses the PCBs to encase the handheld, and the 1:1 screen seems perfect for Pico-8 games.
I really wonder what niche they are aiming for. It looks like a device that is optimized for impulse purchases, that maybe is hanging on a rack in a gas station that you’re buying to quiet down your kids on a long car ride. Or that you pick up in an airport because your phone battery is low. But $164?
I’m concerned that those silicon button covers are going to wear down in weeks with regular use.
I would be more concerned with difficulty of keeping them clean and how long it takes before they melt into goo.
I’m very curious how they feel too
I’m interested to see how this one turns out. I love the design, mostly how slim it is, but those control button things do not look nice to use.
The person in the video seems to be pressing very hard to get it to register the presses… Looks painful for long sessions.
