Zootopia 2 is gonna outgross every superhero movie this year and it’s not even in its’ second week yet.
Looks like the furry fandom came out in droves!
Went to a 9:45 PM showing (latest the cinema had) to avoid the kids as much as possible. There were about 30 or so people there, none of whom were kids, and we overheard multiple “obviously furry” conversations from the other attendees, so… yes, can confirm.
Movie was a great time. It’s just so incredibly joke- and reference-dense, but in fun-to-spot background ways that didn’t detract from the movie at all (unlike some movies where they’re all verbal jokes and it just feels incredibly forced). I imagine I could watch it another 2 or 3 times at least and notice more things each time, which is a lot of fun.
We saw it Saturday afternoon at a local theater that we go to quite often and I have never ever seen it that busy before. At my showing there were tons of kids.
Definitely agree on the movie being great. I almost want to go a second time to see the first 20 minutes that I missed while waiting in line for popcorn.
I like Zootopia quite a bit but I think saying it’s a furry movie is quite childish.
It’s not derogatory… and they didn’t call it a “furry movie”, they just pointed out that it’s got obvious appeal to furries which is… incredibly accurate.

I saw it yesterday and there was not a single child in the theater. Granted, this was the English version in a German theater but it’s a city with people from all over the world, I would have expected at least a few. Would be interesting to see what the audience in the German and Ukrainian¹ language versions looks like but I’m not willing to buy two more tickets just to check.
¹ Yes, some German theaters started offering Ukrainian showings of some movies back in 2022 and at least the ones around here still have that for children’s movies.
