Well I think part of the reason they don’t is because so few people pay attention to what they’re doing. They just vote based on whether they like what the president is doing instead of educating themselves on local politics where there is actually a big potential to have an impact. In that environment of apathy and ignorance it’s easy for complacency and corruption to flourish.
