Somehow people who say that always interpret “having a choice” in a way that excuses their own personal vices from social control while demanding others to conform to their lifestyle. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism.

And if you think you are capable of simply choosing not to exploit, you are a blind fool and you will hurt your fellow anarchists whenever a means to power falls into your lap. Unlearning systemic exploitation will take generations, and people will never be done unlearning their own personal tendencies towards exploitation.

Nah, we can encourage each other as we’re weaning ourselves off stuff, we can celebrate our wins big and small, we can set boundaries and help each other in ways we’re comfortable with, and we can set milk factories on fire.

Resistance is a marathon, not a sprint. An essential part of training to do it well is coming to understand your own limits of what you can give and how it feels to give too much or not enough.
