    Not to take credit from the writers and director, but we’d also had the Sidekick craze and BlackBerrys were very popular, especially among business and Hollywood types as the time.

    We weren’t watching video and doom scrolling yet, but texting was a huge problem and triggered early handsfree laws in a bunch of states.

    I think some people have forgotten, but one of Apple’s biggest innovations was convincing ATT to give iPhone buyers unlimited 2g, then 3g data when buying the phone. I regretted getting rid of that plan for a while but now don’t.

      Excellent points!

      I did love my crackbery (blackberry) as both a user and as a sysadmin. The security and enterprise controls of those things were great! Also the models I used had an actual button keyboard!
