    That’s a misconception that’s IMHO really harmful.

Socialism is not fundamentally altruistic. While many people in capitalist nations think that capitalism is set up for their benefit: it’s not. So, claiming that the majority of boomers and gen X aren’t negatively affected by capitalism is just plain wrong.

Yeah, if I’m completely honest, yes I DO want everyone to be housed and fed without the stress of maybe you’ll be dead if you don’t sell your body hard enough, but the biggest reason I want socialism is because I myself want to be able to slow down and not have to work so hard to stay floating.

That might make me a bad person, but I justify it to myself because everyone else will benefit far more from that than I will, and long after I’m dead things will (hopefully) be even better.

It doesn’t. You’re “allowed” to watch out for your oun well-being. And excessive hoarding of wealth is actually bad for you (example: does Elon Musk seem like a happy person to you?)

I didnt mean that. Ofc everyone is affected negatively by capitalism. But most dont see that. Its a fact though that due to how their lives went, they had it easier in every point of live compared to gen y and gen z. I meant that most of these generations dont care that others suffer more as long as it doesnt hit them noticeable as hard.
