I recently picked up a couple of Apple TV gen 3.1, and discovered you can’t do a whole lot with them aside from cast from your phone these days. I can’t solder for shit, so jailbreaks are out of the question for me, sadly. In the process of researching all this, however, I found a GitHub that will help you hijack the Redbull TV app that comes pre-installed to run IPTV through it. Anyone know of anything good I can look into further? I’m on disability and life is expensive 😭

I don’t have an iPhone, or any other Apple devices aside from the two TV boxes, unfortunately. This house is a purely Linux/Android house lol That said, I definitely appreciate all this info, and may go digging for an android alternative, so this gives me an idea of what direction I can go in!

In that case, I recommend getting the Onn 4K Pro for 75 CAD and following the guide I wrote here. Same process with Stremio, except that it works better on Android, and you can also easily use YouTube ad-free with SmartTube.

There’s cheaper Android devices out there, included cheaper versions of the Onn (Onn FHD for 39 CAD and Onn 4K for 53 CAD), though if possible, I recommend getting the 4K Plus for its higher specs if you decide to go this route.

Okay awesome! Thank you again! One last question… Is the setup you linked possible to do from an Android phone, for at least a little while? It’ll take a few months before I can pick up the Onn device, and brain demands this now, knowing there’s a way forward lol

Stremio settings can be configured and add-ons installed from any web, mobile, or desktop version of Stremio, including the Android app. Stremio settings sync to the Stremio server to let you sync add-ons between devices, just like Omni and Vidi (another Stremio clone) do on iOS via iCloud.
