i can’t even block them on the client i use. wtf is this and how can we stop it?

    Then click the 3 dots menu

    Then you can block from there. If it’s not intuitive enough, I’m open to suggestions for how to make it easier.

    Actually, what if I just added a big “Block” button if the message is from a person you’ve never interacted with?

      I like the idea of the block button for people thats never messaged before. I think a lot of other platforms do the same

      thank you for responding, i did not expect that! the block button in message would be helpful, as well as a report button if that’s feasible. i figured out how to block them but not how to report them without DMing a mod directly. p.s. i love your app in every other way :) this was the first inconvenience i have had with it.

        No problem! I think making the “Block User” button will be a genuine improvement. I don’t think Lemmy lets you report users, but it looks like you can report private messages. I’ll add that as well.

        The banner will look something like this
