the problem for me was taking all of that (which I was fine with), and then adding multiple steps of monotonous space travel in the [change area] part.
It added too much tedium, and also removed one of the best parts of Bethesda RPGs - wandering and exploring between POIs. No enjoying the scenery, navigating the landscape, randomly happening upon easter eggs. Just A to B to C to Z in the most boring way possible.
