The headline feature of the patch is support for NVIDIA DLSS, which enhances image quality while maintaining stable performance in both 40 FPS and 60 FPS modes.

Beyond that, the update fixes a range of technical issues — including crashes, memory handling, and visual glitches. Lighting problems, flickering environments, and missing effects like textures or bullet marks have also been addressed.

Bethesda additionally refined the interface, resolving issues with menu transparency and incorrect button prompts.

Overall, this patch makes the Switch 2 version of Fallout 4 more stable, visually polished, and better optimized for portable play.

That’s not my experience at all. When the trailer for the Switch 2 version came out it looked horrible, but the actual game was fine from the moment it released. It runs fine on my Steam Deck too, but the Steam Deck only has a 720p display while the Switch 2 is 1080p. Visually I prefer the Switch 2 version at 40 Hz by a lot.
