After all the pain that alcohol caused to their lives, the movie ends with all of them drinking, dancing and celebrating, showing how hard it is to quit alcohol.
Some people didn’t get it (including me at the time), they thought the movie should have ended with a sad scene, making it obvious how bad alcoholism is.
