      that’s sort of the point though. if everyone is treated equally instead of according to their specific needs, some people will be underserved.

        No. In this image there’s artificial obstruction (fence) added to serve the capitalists. Equality would be to remove those obstructions, not build workarounds to make the capitalist system to work.

        You see, all those 3 people are already in an inequal position here because they could not get tickets to see the game.

              i… it’s a thought experiment. reasoning within the world of the comic requires some things to be taken as universal constants. here, those are “these people are trying to see over an obstacle”. while i agree the apple tree example is better, this illustrates the idea well enough within the context given by the comic. saying “the premise is flawed because of x” does not change the fact that the premise is right there.
