You didn’t even notice that was someone else replying to you. Also most Lemmy instances are hosted in Europe. So if you prefer a mostly American platform, go to reddit or X. Also, Lemmy is generally political left, including far left. And by left I don’t mean American left, because what you consider left politically is considered right by the rest of the world where as your right is to the rest alt right or right wing extremism, going as far as fascism.

The fact that I’m anti American is because of all the wars they started, the warcrimes and crimes against humanity they committed and are still committing, the insane level of self centeredness and narcissistic behavior by most Americans and maybe the fact they started World War 3 because they voted a known criminal and child sex abusing dictator into office for a second time. While it’s own people are starving and dying of gun violence, including by federal agents, and easy but too expensive treatments for illnesses, while having barely any rights causing them to become homeless, easily fired or paid far under minimum wage which already is way too low for current living standards.

But before the whole Trump thing, most of the world already hated the US. For most it was like “better try to keep them as friends rather than enemies” but no one liked those warmongering dumbfucks who only care about themselves. And for good reason, look what it brought us all.

So if you’re American I can understand that the welfare of your kid(s) isn’t the highest priority and a trip to the moon might be cooler than raising them (like like owning guns is cooler than removing the risk of your kid being shot and killed at school).

I don’t have kids, but if I did I wouldn’t take risks like this, especially not when they already lost their mother. The foster care system is fucked, almost everywhere. Especially in the US. If I were to have kids, I would take my responsibility as a father.

Then there’s still the thing about where I’m from. I don’t see how that is relevant. But you assume all primary English speaking countries are developed, yet there are also third world countries where english is one of their main, or it’s only language. Like the US (now legally it’s only language thanks to Trump), Botswana, Liberia, Nigeria, etc. And yes, with the current wealth inequality, corruption, general survival chance and general quality of life of the average US population, it also classifies as a third world country. I mean, they still have legal slavery. But you’re not the only American assuming all English speaking countries are developed.

I am from a developed country and we do have issues, as every country does. Non of our national issues come even close to the issues the US has, or the US is causing to us. And English isn’t one of our primary languages, our official languages are Dutch and Frisian but we are educated, as contrary to the US, attending school is mandatory by law. I’ve had English, German and French in school for 13 years next to Dutch. Currently I’m learning Norwegian as my partner is from there. But foreign languages are hard for me, I’m a beta person so I’m excelling in math and science. I’m also dyslexic so I keep making mistakes.

But we’re moving away from the main subject here. You agree with me you won’t risk your kids losing their farther by doing this. But then you say I can go fuck myself because you’re American. Why though, I don’t understand. Because you’re proud the US is going back to the moon? You know your tax money is paying for this bullshit right?

There’s a reason we didn’t go back there for 50 years.

Whatever we can achieve on the moon like farming water ice can be done better with robots, either autonomous or remote controlled (because the moon distance has barely any latency), as the entire infrastructure for humans is overly complex, expensive and dangerous and causes the eventual process to include the human error factor. But rationality is gone when corporate/billionaire/dictator greed comes into the equation.

    As an American

Are you aware that every non-US American immediately rolls their eyes and won’t take anything else coming out of your mouth serious, when you say something like that?

If you don’t like America, then get off Lemmy. Because guess what? Lemmy was largely developed by an American.

Stock exchange was invented by the Dutch. If you don’t like the Dutch, would you sell all your stocks if you had them? What a bullshit argument. “Oh I don’t want that medication because it was invented by a French person”. Grow up. Your entire country is based on European countries, it’s heritage, culture and inventions, and exists mainly due to genocide of the native Americans and slavery which boosted its economy.

You do realize that multiple other genocides have happened since the American massacre of Native Americans?

There isn’t a single country on this planet that doesn’t have black smears all over its history.

And if a country’s history isn’t quite as bad as America’s, its people are just as shitty as they are everywhere else. Humans are terrible, vile, disgusting creatures that trample over everything they touch.

It’s easy to blame America, and as much as I truly dislike our government and our current president, I still love my country, its people, and living here.

Moreover, I couldn’t care less how much credibility I have in the comment section of a Lemmy post.

If you think you can stand on your laurels because you’re not American, once again, you can quietly go fuck yourself.

And the beautiful thing is, as an American, I get to say that to whoever the hell I want.

You do realize that multiple other genocides have happened since the American massacre of Native Americans?

Yeah I do. Like the one in Palestine right now, which is supported by the US. Your tax money is used to kill innocent people, including thousands of children.

There isn’t a single country on this planet that doesn’t have black smears all over its history.

Can you support your claim? What, are the black smears in the history of Greenland? Or Iceland? Other than US involvement or initiation, because the US did build a nuclear missile silo in the ice on Greenland.

And if a country’s history isn’t quite as bad as America’s, its people are just as shitty as they are everywhere else. Humans are terrible, vile, disgusting creatures that trample over everything they touch.

Again, can you support your claim? How much countries have you visited? Ever been to Cambodia or Philippines for example? The people there are extremily nice and totally not selfish and narcissistic.

The way you grow up, the location, it’s culture, regulations, wealth, etc. have a large influence on how people become. When you grow up in a fascist state where education is optional, religion is central and politicians constantly spread fear, the chance of becoming an asshole yourself are significantly higher than when you grow up is a safe and healthy environment with proper education.

        I still love my country

Why though, we just talked about dark smeres in the history of countries yet the US is still doing it, for 250 years already and doesn’t seem to stop any time soon. But let’s forget history for a moment. Let’s look at what the US is today: Slavery, corruption, war crimes, crimes against humanity, broken judicial system, corrupt voting system, extreme wealth inequality, insane amounts of suffering on so many levels for most of your fellow countrymen. Your president is a known criminal, child sex offender, and behaves like a toddler version of Hitler. Your country bombed 5 countries this year, that we know of. Kidnapped a president, caused a global oil crisis.

Please, tell me, what is there to love?

And the beautiful thing is, as an American, I get to say that to whoever the hell I want.

Also at a cop? ICE agents? A mad neighbor with a gun? I mean, yeah, sure you can say it, but anyone all over the world can say it. It’s just that for some people there are more consequences than for others. And when it comes to freedom of press, the US isn’t doing great. At least far worse than my country. On the world press freedom ranking the US ranks number 57 in 2025, between Sierra Leone and Gambia.

you can quietly go fuck yourself.

Right back at ya man. I find your responses highly ignorant. How much do you actually know of the world, how much have you seen, really? I have traveled to most continents, been to war zones, to enriched oil states, to poor heavily underdeveloped countries, countries in isolation, seen the most horrific and most beautiful things, met amazing and awful people. How wide is your sphere of influence?
