Whatsapp web doesnt have critical feature like calls, is there any way to get whatsapp desktop on arch?
I’ve been using zapzap and it’s OK. not sure if it does calls though

Lol “native-like”, ok. From their github: “ZapZap is developed as a Progressive Web Application (PWA), built with PyQt6 + PyQt6-WebEngine.” So it’s an embedded web browser, so no video calls and you’d get the same result going on whatsapp on your browser and going “install as app”.
oh, you’re right. well sorry. I use it so little to be honest, but I’ll keep an eye out for other stuff, but that’s as good as it gets atm on linux again.
I guess you could use waydroid and install the android app :p
You can try to install the android version, using either
- Waydroid: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Waydroid
- Android translation layer: https://gitlab.com/android_translation_layer/android_translation_layer/
Nope, 'tis a web-based video calling platform that doesn’t allow doing video calls through a web browser. All clients on Linux are just embedded web browsers.
