I always make up an email address. fakename@fakedomain.com. If they require a confirmation, I use a forwarder and forward to a yahoo account that I never use and has all fake profile info. Fake name, fake birthday, fake profile pic. I log in maybe twice per year and delete everything.
I have a catch-all email domain, and this is exactly what I do. Walmart gets “walmart@example.com”, Target gets “target@example.com”, etc… All of them go to the same inbox, so I always know which email address they think I have. If I start getting spam addressed to walmart@example.com, I know Walmart sold my info. I can just filter anything addressed to that account straight into my spam folder.

Make your first or last name the name of the website so you know who sold your email address to spammers.

10 Minute E-Mails are your friend.
sadly more and more sites are rejecting many of the easily accessible mail forwarders and temp email services.
Ahhhhh, good idea. A burner trash email.with fake details. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.
