    MinIO’s official stance is to redirect people towards their proprietary AIStor solution, but that’s a hard pass for anyone who prefers to stay open source. You don’t need to go down that path.

    FUCK companies that take an open source product that people spent their private time building and make it closed source for themselves

    This is theft, plain and simple

    Yes,the project needs GPL instead of those LGPL type licenses that permit that crap, but that doesn’t change what these companies do

    So can we take the code from up to about a mo the ago, and just make it GPL and tell them to fuck off?

      Unnecessary hostility. They can not and are not retroactively changing license on past contributions. The only thing affected is upstream future contributions. If nothing was lost, how can it be “theft”?

    I’ve used Garage just a bit for precisely this reason and it works well. Very small installation I have, to be clear.
