There have been a number of occasions where us military even killed people and got away with no issue.
This is what really pisses me off, especially when it was just the family of a US soldier that caused the issue and was helped by the US to escape.
There was a wife of a service member stationed in Europe who drove drunk and killed a guy, the US military put her on a plane out of the country before the host country had the chance to investigate or interview her, they tried her in the US and gave her a slap on the wrist.
The US wants it’s military to be seen as a paragon of light, but without real consequences of wrongdoing, that won’t happen.
I realize that I am screaming into the void when I suggest that the US military command institutes real punishments for crimes committed by the service members, but unless you do that, you are protecting the criminals as they disgrace the uniform.
I agree with you but that case is more complicated and even worse for the offender. The drunk driver claimed diplomatic immunity. She then agreed to return to the station after the reports were completed.
Her and the husband got on a commercial flight back to the USA. Turns out she did not have diplomatic immunity, her husband was just a electrician contractor working on the base. Even if she was diplomatic immunity wouldn’t of protected her from such serious crimes.
That’s all on her for drunk driving and generally being a piece of shit. Trump then tried to trick the victim’s family into a free dinner at the white house and mid way through have the drunk driver come out to apologize… That’s on the us government!
