I thought that this was pretty cool — the second post that Valve put up on the Steam Controller 2.0, the one after the release announcement, was distributing the CAD files to permit people/companies to make mods for the controller, 3D print alternate cases or things like that.
My past experience with game controllers has been buying an ever-more-exotic collection of security bits to be able to open them because the vendors that make them don’t want users poking around inside them.
