Because AmEx is accepted in over 200 countries and is one of the largest credit card networks and credit card issuers in the world, not just the US?
Visa and mastercard also do more than just credit card, they also have debit card networks.
Yet in my country there’s no place taking cash only, I have not withdrawn cash since my weed-buying days
I don’t even withdraw cash for buying weed…
