I’m becoming a grandpa at 43. Mildly infuriating, 'cause there are way worse things in life.

Because at 17 and 19 he’s going to be the actual parent.

Especially if those two idiots think having a kid at that age is a good idea.

Most dipshit teenagers know better than that.

I don’t know anything about their situation and neither do you. I’ve known parents at 16/18 who did a good job (with help of their parents), and I know adult parents who should have had a snip the moment they were born. Sure it’s going to be hard for teenagers, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be bad.

        (with help of their parents)

Yeah maybe they’d like to at least attempt to finish raising their kids before having to raise their kids kids?

I mean Jesus Christ people can barely afford to live alone let alone take care of their kid. Most parents do NOT have the resource for an unplanned kid.

Who’s going to pay a two teenagers a living wage? Whos going to make up for the fact that their fucking brains are still under heavy development? Better yet, the fact that they aren’t even full fucking adults? That’s a lot of heavy lifting, even if they’re “good with the help of their parents.”

Call me crazy, but if I thought I was almost done parenting only to find out I have another 18+ years of this shit I’d be a little pissed.

Read the comments. OP and the in-laws are all apparently wealthy. So you can calm down all your worries about wages & resources.
