And Flock is building a surveillance state by using cameras, do people get pissed of at concept of cameras? No so why is AI special?

Yes people should get pissed off, at the billionaires, at the government, but why at the tech itself?

Because of all the other stuff connected to “AI” that pisses people off. Deepfakes, slop, interview algorithms, threats to livelihood, big data mass surveillance, autonomous weapons used for human rights violations, …

You can try to convince people not to hate the technology itself, but you’d be putting the cart before the horse. We need to deal with the cause of the problem first.

        Ah the luddite argument.

I’m quite happy AI is taking my job, now all I have to do is supervise a bunch of AI agents who do the work for me while I can do things I actually enjoy doing.

And my boss likes it too because things that used to take an day now take at max an hour.

I think this could be the beginning of the end for capitalism.

With past automation capital became more efficient but labor was still required. A tractor for example replaced hundreds of farmers, but still required an operator, same with factory machines. But AI is different.

Capitalism requires the capital labor relationship, but AI fudementally gets rid of that.

What way it ends up I don’t know, but for the first time there is a real chance to end the extractive nature of wage labor.

Yeah… and I don’t think we can leave the outcome to chance. Because wealth disparity, if left unchecked, is still going to exist after this happens (and probably get even worse).

Yeah except most people get fucking fired and not a nice relaxing day. I dont think defending the arts is a Luddite argument. Yes, use it on your boring ass spreadsheets. Let’s not replace actors with AI. Theres a place for humans in existence.

The problem is that, to most people, the idea of AI doing their job seems like a threat to their livelihoods given the current system. And it’s a reasonable concern to have.
