There was a guy named after a loaf of meat for gods sake. Anyone remember Simply Red? Is Pink still relevant? Iggy Pop, Jonny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Ziggy Stardust? Grand Master Flash, Run DMC, Salt and Peppa, Kid and Play, Hammer? Were Lux Interior or Poison-ivy Rorschach weird stage names? If that makes their music bad, I think I’d rather stay sick. It’s all about branding. If it works it isn’t stupid.
