If we really need to summarize the web that frequently, then there is something seriously wrong with the web.
there is something seriously wrong with the web.
Yep. There certainly is.
Waterfox is right there
Mozilla doesnt have translate figured out yet. Needs to be told what language it is everytime.
It is behind chrome in a lot of ways and they focus on this.
shaking as input is objectively moronic.
The only time I have agreed with it is when Google used it for the “send feedback” dialog on Android, because that was hilarious.
Shake is also the ‘undo’ gesture across iOS
So that’s why I am randomly asked if I want to undo my typing!
From the same article: If you prefer tapping, you can select Summarize Page under More in the three-dot menu.
It should be called Shake to Slop, since summarisers have been shown to be wrong 51% of the time.
So, a coinflip.
Gross
Just what Firefox needed, more fucking popups for me to close. Its like playing one of those videogames that never stops tutorializing you.
Jesus, they are sprinting to kill the Internet before others do rather than offering an alternative.
This centralizes information, decisions, and removes humans from the web. Shitty website? Poor writing? Illiterate population? No penalty, someone else’s AI will summarize it for your
victimsusers. You can just insert someone else’s AI token you can buy that shares content that some other AI told you is “optimized” and when the AI summarizes itll be something users respond to or engage with. Just like short form video, it doesn’t mean it’s correct, true, useful, insightful, complex or wise, but as long as they come back and stay on the treadmill who cares? Also, when your innovation is akin to “ShakeWeight” you want to go back to the drawing board…
Not interested in any of this AI shit. You can get Iceraven, Firefox without any of this crap, regularly updated & supporting all the module extensions. Not just mobile
Nice that they use the Mistral AI, supporting European innovation.
