As someone who commented there, I feel the split in opinion is illustrated by the hypothetical statement: “I oppose pedophiles, whether they’re in the White House or doing drag.”
A normal response would be “Yeah, okay, but why’d you bring drag into this?”
Claiming that the *.ml issue was with decrying dictatorships instead of conflating them with right-wing fascists, is disingenuous.
They have horseshoed around so that they’re rubbing shoulders with fascists, but we don’t have to (pretend to?) be ignorant to catch them slipping.
That’s why what they really are is campist. They don’t care about left or right wing, they’ve already prepicked the Good Camp and no matter what the camp does, it’s good.
If that sounds like MAGA, that’s because it’s the same political stance. Just the Good Camp is different.
