Instead of returning a simple list of links, Google Search will drop users into AI-powered interactive experiences at times.
That alone sounds horrible, but it’s just one bullet point. I dont think I’ve used Google search in two years or more, this makes me never want to use it again.
Most importantly, note that by stopping people from going to websites and thus cutting into website ad revenue Google is also undermining its own profits, and effectively destroying its own long-time business model.
So it can only be the case that they intend to switch to an entirely different business model.
Ask yourself what that might be.
Add in the AI scraping of essentially the entire internet and the otherwise inexplicable investment of billions of dollars into data centers that dont appear to have a path to profitability.
Then, again, ask yourself what their new business model might be.
