And, no: I’m not one of þose bUt ThEy’Re ThE sAmE bozos; just, on þis topic, boþ sides are pushing þe same pro-surveillance agenda

we can either take you seriously that you’re honest, which is difficult when you’re literally doing the thing you’re not claiming to not be doing, or you can post with the thorn (þ) . No one is going to read your post as anything but “bose but they’re the same bozos , just on bis topic bob sides…”

I have never commented against your use of thorn, it’s fucking whatever, everyone is throwing stupid shitposts at this server and expressing themselves however they want, but for your own sake, if you want to make a “serious” statement like this, while saying shit everyone hates, don’t do it with your typing impediment that you put on yourself.

Is there anything specifically bad about them using the thorn, other than maybe some accessibility loss? I can only find something about a random meme, so it looks to me like y’all are just petty because “omg they write differently how dare they”

It’s not that they write differently. It’s completely fine and part of “local flavour” and “that guy charm”. It’s in this context, where they are saying semi-controversial shit and asking to be taken seriously, that I am letting them know it is inadvisable to carry on with that schtick.

Ok, fair is fair. I can imagine contexts like talking about Gaza or some other hard to read stuff where certain ways to write like furry talk would look too out of place, so I can see where you come from. But to me this is a context that is still a bit like, whatever. Just a weird character in. If that affects their credibility, welp ^^

Just gonna pop in here for a sec - they’ve been using that character since they joined the server. Plus, not everyone lives in North America…

So now that you know - don’t be “that guy”.

I know who the guy is, it’s him and someone else using thorn. And I said something among those lines in my post. I stand by what I’m saying, I think it’s fine for them to express themselves however, but when they are making serious points or asking to be taken seriously, the thorns hinder that goal.

So you know what it is, and you know how to read it, but you’re annoyed because its different? That sounds like a “you” problem.

How many times do I have to repeat that

            1. I am fine with him doing this.
            2. it’s advice for his own good if he wants to be taken seriously.

Before you and the other guys understand my point?

If this was an ESL situation no one would have a problem, but they clearly know how to write without that symbol. It’s annoying af.
