What time slot are you trying to go for, they are usually cheaper before 4 pm, also look out for local indie theaters they are smaller but the tickets cost less and it’s a better atmosphere anyway
The matinee prices range from 15 to 20% off so still a ripoff IMO. Especially when I’m more than capable of finding quality films online via other means.
They do have half price tickets on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I’m exhausted at the end of a workday.

Amc has the cheap ticket tuesdays I think like $10 a ticket
