A pregnant woman has spoken out after a Dutch police officer was filmed assaulting her at an asylum centre, seeking widespread outrage online.

The footage showed a Dutch police officer throwing the woman to the ground and others dragging her on the ground.

She says she approached officers to ask whether she could remain with her husband as he was being detained when police suddenly used unprovoked excessive force against her.

The woman explained that her husband broke the TV in anger after learning about his brother’s killing, and the police arrived at the centre soon after.

She gave birth five days after the violent incident and says her baby was “very early” and “needed more time”.
