I can’t get rid of it, it’s obnoxious. I’ve tried filtering the element with my adblocker but it keeps reappearing. As much as I find Reddit useful (unfortunately), especially for information and discussion relating to my country, I will never install their proprietary garbage app on my phone just to use their website.

Oh well. I’ve used the Internet before Reddit existed, I’m sure I can get used to doing so again.

I actually find Lemmy to be kind of refreshing. While it doesn’t have nearly the depth of content or the traffic of new posts on things I’m interested in, the fact it doesn’t send my adblocker into over drive or have mods that seem to spend a lot of time trying to police their communities like they are being paid for it is nice.

Gives me a small taste of what the old days of individual blogs with comment sections and forums was like.
