They should have done the sequel way earlier then just in time to keep the license.I think tron 2 came out way too late. It’s a decemt movie, but i know a lot of people just didn’t bother.
The Odd Couple II was not only decades late as an Odd Couple sequel but also about three years too late to capitalize on the success of “Grumoy Old Men.”
Blade Runner 2049, but it was worth all the wait.

All the Tron sequels came out way too late.
Legacy was over 20 years later, and 16 years after that for Ares (which I did enjoy).
2010 is laughably an 80’s cliche that doesn’t stand up at all today, not that it ever did. The art direction alone is infuriating. Scheider’s feathered hair and epauletted sleeves are such cringe laziness. Bob Balaban is in it ffs.
There’s a Chinatown sequel and a 2nd Godfather sequel I’ll never watch out there, or so I’m told.
Caddyshack 2, they lost all the people that made the first one good, though I’m not convinced it needed a sequel
