    Excess deaths is an interesting statistic, especially compared to other big events.

    For example, here in NZ. We had fewer excess deaths during the covid pandemic. We haven’t had and heat waves (yet) to compare with.

    How does the French heatwave excess deaths compare to it’s covid excess deaths?

      Excess deaths is a number governments can’t fuck with. NZ got lower deaths because flu deaths were near zero. Same with Canada, then the antivaxers came back by 2023 and killed thousands again.

      I don’t know, but since French people don’t believe in vaccines, masks, social distance, lockdowns, or science as a whole, I wouldn’t expect it to have been much better.
