Packaging has stayed the same size but the content has decreased 50%
Edit: Thank you all for pointing out these are infact two different types of fruits. I guess I really am fruit blind.
I did not have the older raspberry packaging, so I am comparing to the older strawberry packaging still in my freezer, of the same line/brand. All new packages are now 300g while the older packaging was 600g. Once (or if) I buy these again, I will snap a picture of the new 300g strawberry packaging.
Here is a comparison of older Blueberry packaging of 600g still in my freezer, the ones in store are now 300g.

Those aren’t the same product though
And they also exchanged the strawberries for raspberries, those monsters
Think you’re just experiencing strawberries being a cheaper fruit by weight than raspberries, but I appreciate the diligence.
No, we experience shrinkflation of the education system. Same degrees but obviously we can’t even identify different fruits anymore.
I’ve worked for Loblaw (They own this brand, President’s Choice, and are probably Canada’s largest grocer).
They have this line of product called Always $10. It’s a package of food that’s pretty much devoid of branding except that the $10 price is part of the packaging and not a sticker. Twice a year we get planograms (a merchandising guide / map to make sure all displays across the company are the same) where we have to change all the Always $10 stuff.
It’s always the exact same product, but smaller.
Loblaw’s in the news recently for settling a class-action lawsuit over colluding with other retailers to fix the price of bread. That’s right, a bread cartel. And like, sure, a settlement isn’t an admission of guilt. But a monolith like this doesn’t settle unless they think they can lose, and they wouldn’t think they could lose unless they did a bunch of illegal shit.
Please tell me the owner of that company is called Robert. Do you know if they happen to have a blog about the justice system?
Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog is the first place I look for frozen berry news for sure!
OR, were the raspberries always 300g because they’re generally less plentiful as a common fruit?
Edit- Oh snap, it’s my cake day. What a time to be alive, or whatever
Possible because they are less dense, so harder to fit in the same sized packet?
Happy cake day!
Guys, this hammer is more expensive than this screwdriver… DAMN YOU SHRINKFLATION!!!
… those are not the same product?
Thank you, I am aware it’s not the same fruit, but the product line is the same.
The whole product line used to be 600g for all their frozen fruits, now all the new packaging is 300g.
I will make sure to snap a picture of the new strawberry quantity (if I ever buy these again).
Straw is cheaper than rasp by weight.
mmm, straw.
Are they selling at the same price? It’s pretty common to see multiple sizes of the same product with identical packaging, at least in my groceries.
