    1. I was a happy Playstation user through every generation, starting with the first one
    2. I got a Playstation 5 1-2 years after its launch
    3. After being a Linux user for years, I decided I could also try Linux gaming so I bought a used LCD Steam Deck early 2025
    4. My Playstation 5 started gathering dust and was only used for demanding racing games like Gran Turismo 7 or Nba Streaming
    5. Saw the Steam Machine announcement and started having a dilemna. Decided I’d look at its price before making a decision to fully switch to Linux gaming
    6. Saw the Steam Machine US price and decided I’d get it only if it’s less than CHF 1000.- in my country
    7. Saw the Playstation disc removal and decided that no matter what, I ain’t getting another Playstation.

Thank you Sony for making my decision easier! I love your games and would probably buy some on PC if I could know for sure that they wouldn’t be taken away.

I ain’t selling the Playstation 5 as I’ll probably buy a few more exclusives (on disc) for it, but it’ll probably keep gathering dust and being mostly used as an Nba league pass streaming machine.

Now the removal of physical discs ain’t really the problem, but if you combine this with shady practices from Sony, it’ll be GOG (and Steam when not available) all the way for me.
