    That’s just one verse. The whole song is about the death of small towns (particularly the Rust Belt) and the abandonment of unskilled labor by the economy of the ‘70s and ‘80s.

      Also: "Springsteen himself has gone on record calling Trump ‘a flagrant, toxic narcissist,’ a ‘moron,’ and a ‘threat to our democracy.’ "

      Basically my origin story, that’s why I like the song, but hate the assholes who blast it from their baggers or other dick compensators.
