I remember there was a time when Romany were hated and people thought they would settle randomly in the middle of the night on land owned by someone else, which they would then defend as their exclusive property.

To me, this would describe a group making that stereotype a reality.

Are we misunderstanding how the Canaanites were kicked out of Egypt and how they ended up in Palestine originally?

The grave hypocrisy of colonialism is a feature not a bug, it is what ensures the cyclicity of violence that facilitates fascism as a viable political ideology on both sides.

Fascism wins by constructing incomprehensibly brutal hypocrisies that are so inhumane and despicable that they obliterate people’s ability to empathize or discern nuance through the repeated trauma of comprehending them.

If fascism cannot brutalize itself as much as it brutalizes “the enemy” it inevitably fails.
