StatCounter’s June 2026 report shows Linux at one of its strongest recent positions, while Windows falls to 56.55%.

If I were to build a new machine there is no way I’m buying a windows license. I doubt I’ll ever buy or need on personally. Work is another nightmare, but I think many of us know that pain.
