Technically Sony has the ability to remotely disable any game so that PS4s and PS5s don’t read the disc. Though that requires the console to be connected to the internet. As long as it’s not, you should be good. Not exactly ‘ownership’, but fairly close.
Many PS5 games can be fully installed from the disk with no internet connection needed.
