A source confirmed a deal had been reached and that the U.S. would get 50% of toll revenue and be able to veto any toll hike that is 10% more than the current tolls.
Given that it was Canada that paid for the bridge, this is a horrible deal.
We’re not allowed to charge less either. Just 2 months ago, the tolls were set to be half what you’d pay on the Ambassador (the only place anyone’s going to find those “compared regional averages”).
At this point, I’m just assuming the USofA’s “regional economic development fund” is the Moroun family’s piggy bank.
