I don’t get the appeal of Taco Bell. I tried it for the first time about ten years ago and it was dreadful. If it’s not healthy then it should be some kind of guilty pleasure, but the whole meal just tasted cheap and nasty.
Like a lot of chain restaurants, the quality varies pretty wildly by location. There was a (thankfully brief) time in my life where Taco Bell was very nearly the cheapest source of food available, and a large percentage of my food intake came from their value menu. Not good for the ol’ cholesterol, but I was young and needed calories, and I found a location that was consistently decent, so I would go there, spend two dollars, and get enough food to last me the rest of the day, and it was inoffensive enough that I could eat it every day and not get sick of it. Bringing my own hot sauce helped.
