      After quick search - it looks to be ml-generated (I refuse to call slightly advance math algorithm an AI). From reddit:

      I believe it is AI to mimic the style of Rien Poortvliet from the book Gnomes (1977, Wil Huygen)

      The earliest uses of this image I can find are 2023, and only as a meme

      But if you want real-human art of gnomes, that book is for you!
