Women put on clothes for a variety of reasons like staying warm and avoiding sunburn, and sometimes we also pick clothes we find aesthetically flattering (shockingly men also do this). Calling it “advertising” comes from a perspective that women are necessarily focused only on men, and trying to trick men.
