Always loved this piece of trivia. Another creepy game workaround is Skyrim’s Dead Body Cleanup Cell.

The Dead Body Cleanup Cell is a cross-shaped room where most characters encountered will appear when killed.

I encountered this weird room in the creation kit but it didn’t have a pile of corpses so this is the first time I’m learning what it was for lol.

When I try to console command my way there late in the game, the whole thing just freezes. I assume there are too many bodies and the collisions kill the engine lol.

If you’re trying to res a specific NPC you might be able to use commands to move the corpse to you rather than going to it.

              prid RefID
              moveto player

But I suppose it’s difficult to find the RefID without access to it lol

Any refid from the basegame is usually available on fan wikis. If not, you can use help [name] 4 and that can also get you pretty far. Now, mods, that’s a whole other story. Sometimes they have a pretty extensive list of codes on their Nexus page for example, but not always.

Edit: oh and yeah, I mainly just wanted to gawk at the piles of bodies I left in my wake lol

              No thats not correct.

BaseID is unique to each character and can be found as you described, RefID is unique to each instance of that character.

If you spawn a character in with BaseID it will be a new copy of the NPC without the same items and unknown interractions with flags set.
