Hi all. I recently came to Bazzite after being a Windows snob for, well, ever. The single player games I play and Hell Let Loose work great, but I am struggling to get my racing sims to work. All the games are through Steam, howver I think it is likely to be the non-native support for Simhub, Moza and SimLabs Race Director software. Are there any sim racing Bazzite users here that could offer some advice? I have tried a few online guides via YouTube, but I’m coming up short. Any advice would be appreciated.

I use pithouse, most games work.
No workaround for the cheap amazon handbrake works but that is more the cheap handbrakes fault, works on windows
Iracing and WRC don’t work, neither does f1 and a few others.
I play the crew motorfest, dirt rally 2, asseto corsa (mods are less finnicky on windows, im swapping), beamng (beammp works on windows, swapping their too), most free and cheap on sale or key games worked otherwise. It was mainly an anticheat issue, the wheel and settings function better with the third party linux app for me for moza.
I dualboot and swap to windows when I want to play iracing or wrc, it takes a minute maybe, on a second drive to avoid issues. 90% of the time I just play somthing linux compatible which includes most sim racing games.
Ask in the simeacing on linux matrix room, the guys are very knowledgeable. It’s linked by some poster below. Devices like handbrakes often don’t get recognised as joysticks, because they don’t have buttons. You have to add a little config file and it will be recognised just fine on linux.
Sure, not on bazzite.
These solutions should work on any distro. Why not on bazzite, it says here it’s based on fedora.
Youll also straight up get every sign in the terminal that it should be recognized and it still won’t work in any game, not with any flag or whatever added to steam either
Oh I see, if you need to run stuff that is not working out of the box, like gaming peripherals, an immutable distro probably is not the right choice… That’s good to know, and probably will always be the tradeoff, but you get a distro that is very hard to break on the plus side…
immutable, I tried literally every fix you are thinking of from reddit, other people have mentioned it didn’t work on bazzite either on the discord, ill prob have an ai agent give it a go at some point, it usually finds workarounds for bazzite based on it being based on atomic silver blue fedora or whatever the fk it says, im just taking a break from simracing and didn’t trust ai with sht back then
Thats what I’ve been doing. It isnt really an issue because I have a decent system and I probably wont get much if any of a performance gain, just want to be less reliant on Windows.
I’ve never had the wheel not work if the game worked, it’s often just a calibration issue either in game or in settings, some games are finnicky
