Tesseract is a Lemmy frontend that was recently revealed to be hiding huge swathes of the fediverse (and really arbitrarily stipid things, at that) from anyone who used the Tesseract frontend, and it was doing it in a way that couldn’t be modified by admin or users or even checked, so nobody knew that anyone who had ever engaged with anything remotely political was being erased. It’s all due to Admiral Patrick, the developer of Tesseract, who decided that they should be the sole arbiter of what is good on the Federated internet. It is now a badge of the highest honour to find oneself on the Tesseract shadow ban list. I am, unfortunately, not on it yet, but I have aspirations.
